We offer many great opportunities to volunteer.
If you are interested in serving in any of the areas listed below, call the church office at 352-787-3786.
Assist with Hard-of-Hearing devices on Sunday morning. We provide devices that amplify the sounds in the sanctuary to be used during Traditional worship services for those who are hard of hearing. We need volunteers to assist in cleaning the devices after each use, and ensuring that they are distributed and put away properly. For more information click here.
Be a greeter. This is a wonderful opportunity to warmly greet folks and make them feel welcome as they enter for worship.
Be an usher. Both men and women are invited to serve as ushers for the various worship services provided by Morrison.
Serve on the Altar Guild. Many hands make light work. The Guild includes the communion stewards as well as those who decorate the sanctuary for special seasons during the year.
Join our music ministry. Morrison is renowned for its superb music program. Perhaps you’d like to join the Sunrise Choir at 8:00 or the Chancel Choir at 11:00. Handbell ringers are always welcome. The Praise Band for our Soul-utions (non-traditional) service welcomes new instrumentalists and singers. For more information click here.
Be an office receptionist. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn names of fellow members and assist the office staff with light clerical duties. All of our receptionists are volunteers.
Building Maintenance. With four buildings covering a city block there continue to be on-going projects in maintenance.
Bread of Life. Volunteers are needed for this weekly ministry which operates in conjunction with the Salvation Army. Food is prepared in our church kitchen each Tuesday with the help of Vic's Embers while others serve the hot meals at the Army’s center on West Main Street.
Salvation Army Thursday Breakfast. Volunteers from Morrison prepare and serve a weekly breakfast to those less fortunate.
Deliver flowers. The lovely floral offerings gracing our chancel area and narthex each week are broken down into smaller bouquets and taken on Monday to the homebound, critically ill, and those with special birthdays.
Assist with Wednesday All Together Meals. Each week a tasty meal is offered to the Morrison family by Vic's Embers. Volunteers are always needed! Weekly teams handle the serving and cleanup. Could you help for two hours once a month?
Join the Garden Group. We have a group of dedicated volunteers who gather on the second Saturday morning of each month to maintain the prayer garden and other areas around the church.
